Ceramic Courses
We propose ceramic lessons for adults.
Each workshop can accept up to 6 persons - for 6 weeks minimum.
Our courses last 1h30.
Raw materials (clays, glazes) as well as firings ("bisque" and high temperature) are included (1).
The use of stoneware is our speciality (high temperature firing).
In our opinion, stoneware gives the most interesting results from an artistic point of view.
Clays and glazes fired at higher temperatures are solid and have interesting textures, with a variety of shades and hues that give to the artwork an original and personal aspect.
Process
Making stoneware point by point:
- Handbuilding -- Different technics to be suggested (modeling, coiling, slabs, sculpture, pottery...).
We can suggest project ideas or leave you to work according to your own imagination and creativity. - Drying of the artwork - usually requires 1 week - sometimes even longer, depending on the thickness of the ceramic item.
- The 1st "bisque" firing (around 900 °C) leaves the fired piece poreous and ready for glazing.
- Glazing of the ceramic piece by using different technics (brush, pooring, dipping...). Our workshop provides a large choice of self-developped glazes.
- The 2nd high temperature firing (over 1200 °C) : allowes the fusion ("vitrification", melting) of glazes. Only stoneware allowes simultaneous maturation of fired clay and glaze. (2)
This results in a solid, lasting artwork with subtile colours. - After cooling, the ceramics are ready to be admired and brought home.

Inscriptions and courses all year round.
Prior inscription required before following one or several workshops. (3)
We try to form groups of similar levels and age (for children).
For practical reasons, please respect the agreed schedule/workshop. (4)
We could consider opening new workshops and/or adjust our schedules if there is enough demand (min. 3 pers.)

(3) Prices are informative and may be modified - Courses are payable in advance.
(4) Inscription for 6/8/10 lessons are valid during 8/10/12 consecutive weeks. Past this period, the missed courses cannot be recovered.
